Livermore man charged with ‘almost completely’ severing family member’s ear LIVERMORE — A 44-year-old man has been charged with mayhem for allegedly slicing a family member’s ear most of the way off during a gathering last month, court records show.Raymond Diaz, of Livermore, was charged with a single count of mayhem. He remains jailed in lieu of $110,000 bail, court records show.Livermore police were called to a residence on the 1100 block of East Stanley Boulevard at around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 for a report of a man bleeding profusely from his head. Responding officers found other family members comforting the victim, whose “ear had almost been completely severed from his head,” a police investigator wrote in court papers.Several eyewitnesses identified Diaz as the stabber, authorities said.
