Lauren Ash Lives Through This: Actor and pop-punk musician Lauren Ash (you might know her as Dina on Superstore) told us about her love for a Hole gem.Lauren Ash: In order to properly answer this question, I have to start by giving a shout-out to my favorite band of all time: a Canadian band called Age of Electric. I discovered them when I was quite young and up past my bedtime watching music videos on MuchMusic (Canada’s MTV).The song “Ugly” grabbed me in a way that I had never experienced before. I remember this being the moment I felt a shift in my musical sensibilities. I bought their self-titled album on cassette as soon as I had saved up enough allowance money and I must have listened to it 5000 times. Melodic, interesting, lyrically unique, heavy at times, it ultimately piqued my interest in rock music. It was time for me to put my New Kids on the Block tapes in a box and begin my brand new journey into discovering this new, exciting style of music.Ultimately, this is what le...CBD vs Delta-8 THC: Understanding the Major Differences

As their popularity grows, it’s key to understand the main differences between these two compounds, especially in terms of their interactions with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and their overall effects.Let’sl dive deeper into the differences between CBD and delta-8 THC, so you can make an educated decision which cannabinoid may be best for you.The Basics: CBD vs Delta-8 THCCBD and delta-8 THC are both naturally occurring cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant family. While CBD is primarily derived from hemp, a strain of cannabis containing 0.3% or less THC, delta-8 THC is a minor cannabinoid found in both hemp and marijuana (cannabis plants containing more than 0.3% THC).That being said, the vast majority of delta-8 THC products sold are produced using hemp and CBD. delta-8 is actually made by converti...What to do about one, two, three rabbits under a San Jose deck?

DEAR JOAN: For several months now, we have had a cute rabbit in our backyard. It seems to live under our deck and likes to chase the squirrels. However, this morning I saw two smaller rabbits come out from under the deck. What do you suggest we do, as they reproduce so quickly? And what is legal, because relocating squirrels is not, so I expect relocating rabbits also is against the law.— Maryke Williams, San JoseDEAR MARYKE: I suspect the cute rabbit is the mama, and the two smaller bunnies are her offspring. There might be more under the deck. The first thing to do is figure out if the bunny in question is a wild rabbit or someone’s pet that has skedaddled from the hutch. Tame rabbits can be rescued and re-homed; wild rabbits cannot. Most wild rabbits are brown and have cottontails. If your visiting rabbit is large and multicolored, it could be a missing pet.You can contact animal control or a rabbit rescue. The Rabbit Haven can help with pet rabbits in the San Jose area; thei...TasteFood: Panzanella-inspired fare for the salad days of summer

Nothing beats a leafy, brimming bowl layered with fresh garden pickings and farmers market bounty. Sweet corn and juicy tomatoes are ripe headliners in high summer paired up in this vibrant salad inspired by Italian panzanella. Panzanella translates to bread (pane) and a deep plate or bowl (zanella). It’s a Tuscan and Umbrian bread and tomato salad that relies on stale bread, which is refreshed in the juice of salted ripe tomatoes and tossed with a simple vinaigrette. The recipe below is not entirely traditional, but it expresses the gist of a panzanella, with grilled croutons and exuberantly ripe and juicy tomatoes. Pops of fresh corn kernels are added to the summery mix, along with quick-pickled red onions and an herbaceous basil vinaigrette. This salad is a sum of components prepared individually, then combined. Note that the dressing is thicker in consistency than a traditional vinaigrette, so if you prefer a runnier dressing, add more oil to thin it out (and be sure to adju...Rents dipped nationally, but what about in the Bay Area?

Can I get a refund?

DEAR TRAVEL TROUBLESHOOTER: On the first night of our vacation rental in Hawaii, I found cameras pointing directly at the bed in our master bedroom. I immediately contacted Vrbo and cited their surveillance policy, which says cameras and audio recorders can’t be used inside a property.A Vrbo representative offered limited guidance and asked for more information and pictures. I left the following morning and found a hotel. Vrbo directed me to file a police report. I returned to the property and filed a report with the Hilo police.Vrbo agreed to cover our hotel stay for the next two nights. But so far, I’ve received nothing from Vrbo. I’m looking for a refund of the hotel plus the remaining balance of $1,095. I successfully disputed the second half of my Vrbo payment on my credit card. Can you help me get the rest?— Angela Hall, Raleigh, N.C.ANSWER: You’re not the first vacation rental guest to find a camera in a home. But aimed at the bed in the master b...Latest news
